On 12 April 2025, DOC ART GALLERY presents Hiraeth, showcasing artists selected through our winter open call. This group exhibition features emerging talents from across Russia.

Curatorial statement:
“In search of the lost: A home where I don’t belong.”

Hiraeth (Welsh hir—”long/far” and aeth—”grief/pain”) describes nostalgia for a home one cannot return to—or that never existed beyond longing.

Nostalgia’s reflection conjures an illusory world woven from fantasies and idealizations. Though fleeting by nature, it’s precisely to this intangible realm—a place that doesn’t exist—that we turn during life’s most challenging moments.

This exhibition reconstructs images of what was lost or imagined, exploring how we dream of places where past, present, and future might reconcile.
